Portrait Planning Guide

I promise it's not complicated
Right now, too many families are going through life storing every memory they have on their phone, relying on these tiny digital files and social media 'memories' to remember the moments that are most precious to them, instead of enjoying them daily with their families in the context of physical reminders.
Change is here.
From initial contact all the way to final delivery of your artwork, my goal and purpose is to make the memories of the people you love the most in this world come alive every single day.
Home, Studio or Location?
When I say 'studio' I am referring to my mobile studio here in Winchester. I bring everything to set up in your home or at a location we have chosen in advance. Another option would be a home session where we take pictures in and around your home, and these are special because they are in your own space. Finally, I offer location sessions in local parks, at farms, or even in downtown locations. Where ever we end up, I am skilled in natural light as well as strobes and lamp lighting so location lighting is never an issue. We will discuss all of this during our phone consultation and continue the conversation right up until your session date.

My Favorite Printing Options
My ultimate go-to is an album. I like an album of every session for my own family because the kids like to look through them like a picture book, and they make great 'coffee table' books. Instead of pulling out my phone to show friends pictures of my kids when they were little, we can look at the album together---more connection for my friends and more opportunities for storytelling!

After that, it's the traditional frame, sometimes with a mat. I work with a local reputable custom framing gallery to create one-of a kind artwork that is ready to hang, or you can frame and hang them yourself. All images 8 inches and larger come mounted on hard plastic for added durability, and special top layer effects include texture, metallic print, matte print, traditional, and glossy. I always recommend covering your print with glass or plexi-glass to protect it from the elements of your home!

Finally, for that WOW factor, I often like to invest in metal prints, float wraps, or a canvas print. All three have a different feel and its up to you to decide whether you want more traditional wall art like a canvas, more modern like a metallic print, or something in the middle like my matte float wraps.

'Walling' your art
This can feel like a daunting task, but only if you don't have a plan! I have put together a lot of ideas but you can be creative as well. Here are some general guidelines for wall galleries

Going with BIG
This is a WOW factor. It makes an artistic statement like no other. I have large canvases of my 5 babies as newborns in a similar pose in our bedroom and I am in LOVE with them.

Going with LOTS
This is fun because you can make square or 8x10 tiles interchangable throughout the year. They come in a special keepsake box for that very reason. You can also do larger prints in this way. You can use this type of art to display individual family members along with interactions, tell a story from start to finish, or you can use it to display different pictures of your child's personality
