A Note on Pricing

I get many questions regarding my pricing, and many people who ask me 'why don't I just give them all of the images on a CD---after all, their friend, who is also a photographer did that!' Well, I am confident in both the quality of my work, and my pricing, and this is just a short explanation why:

Regarding my pricing. The price of my artwork is not solely based on print costs.  There are many costs associated with legitimately running a photography business, including education, licensing, research, software, and a great deal of time. For each client, I spend several hours of time. I research and consult about location and clothing, I book the location in advance, put everything in my car, travel to the location, I set up, I do the session, I put everything back in my car, and travel from the session.  I then open the files and carefully select the very best images to proof.  After rendering proper color corrections, I open each file and do a custom edit, choosing the exact actions and modifications that will make each image shine.  After the proofs meet my approval, I create a slideshow and maybe even a composite of the work, showcasing which images work well together, then upload all of these images onto an online gallery so that you can share these images with your family.  I am available to consult on ordering questions, and after receiving an order from my clients.  I place the order with the lab that I have chosen to work with, I check each print when it comes back to make sure that it is exceptional in every way.  If you compare my prices to other professional photographers, you will find that my prices are somewhat lower.  I will be raising my prices after the first of the year to make myself in line with other professionals of my caliber.  I do understand that not everyone can afford my prices. Remember, there is no obligation for you to spend any more than your print credits, and I would love to help you choose which images to order!

A note about digital images:  I know that my clients love getting digital images for sharing online, however I am selling art for your walls at home.  I want to give you the finished print that will stop you every time you walk past it.  I want these images to hang on your walls and 60 years from now, when CD images, Instagram, and Facebook are obsolete,  bring you back to the very moment my shutter snapped that priceless image of your family.  My preference is that my clients invest in quality art products, therefore the digital images are only included with these art products, and as a gift after investment of a certain amount.  After all of the time and effort that I expend on each of the images, each one is its own individual art piece, and is priced appropriately.  Just as you would not price a painting at the cost of a canvas and paint, I cannot price my artwork at the cost of paper alone.

I value you, your family and your final product too much to do a cheap and mediocre job, and I promise you all of my work, and your products will be of the highest quality, and you, as my client will be treated as royalty,  with your very best interest at heart.  I guarantee satisfaction with your images, or I will schedule a re shoot, or arrange for a refund of your session balance.

Thank you so much for your understanding!
