If you had to think of a place in Winchester where you might find the most joy, love, and happiness, what would it be??
Not everyone considers the hospital right away, because there is sometimes a lot of sadness in this building... but, you know what? the Mother/Baby unit of Winchester Medical Center was the happiest place on earth when my daughter was born last December! There is no joy like that of welcoming a new love of your life into the world. I am BEYOND thrilled to announce that (7) 20x30 mounted wall displays and 2 20x20 framed wall displays, art by SL Hunter Photography, now adorn the halls of the Mother/Baby Unit at WMC!
This past year, I was honored to work with the staff, the doctors, and the nurses of the Women's Center at WMC as we put together a beautiful display for the bare walls of the Mother Baby Unit. I hope that the display is something that everyone can enjoy for years to come!
I hope nervous NEW MOMMIES find JOY in seeing the sweet faces of other babies delivered in that hospital on the walls, and I hope that tired DOCTORS and NURSES see those little faces in the early hours of the morning as they come into work, or from delivering heartbreaking news, and REMEMBER why they work long, difficult hours, and that they find JOY and COMFORT as well.
Thank you to WMC for being willing to meet with me so many times throughout this project, thank you Tammy Dellinger and Stinkin’ Cute for the adorable froggy hat on the only baby girl on the wall, and most importantly, thank you to the families of these little ones (some are almost 2 year olds now!) for participating in the Model Search a while ago when I first had the vision for this project!
